Preamble
From Genesis to Revelation, God’s great desire is to dwell with His people in covenant love, a holy people in whom He delights and with whom He abides (Exod 29:45–46; Ps 132:13–16; John 17:24; Rev 21:3).
We confess the following truths in that light.
We believe in one God, eternally existent in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—perfect in love and holiness, jealous for a people to be His own. (Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor 13:14; Exod 34:14; 1 John 4:8)
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ—very God and very man—conceived by Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, sinless, crucified for our sins, bodily raised the third day, ascended, and reigning. In Him God is Immanuel, God with us, reconciling us to Himself. (John 1:1,14; Matt 1:23; 1 Cor 15:3–4; Acts 1:9; Heb 7:25)
We believe Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus, convicts, regenerates, indwells, sanctifies, and empowers; He pours God’s love into our hearts and makes us God’s dwelling. (John 16:7–14; Titus 3:5; Rom 5:5; 8:9–14; 1 Cor 3:16; Acts 1:8)
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God—the living voice that forms a people who walk with Him. (2 Tim 3:16–17; 2 Pet 1:19–21; Ps 19:7–11)
We believe all people are made in God’s image for fellowship with Him, yet fallen in Adam, under sin and death, estranged from His Presence apart from grace. (Gen 1:26–27; Rom 3:23; 5:12; Eph 2:1–3)
We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart from works—justified by His blood, reconciled to God, and adopted into His family, brought near to His Presence. (Eph 2:8–9,13; Rom 5:1,9–11; John 1:12–13)
We believe that believers are united with Christ in His death and resurrection, set free from sin’s dominion, and called to walk in newness of life; holiness is life with God, sharing His heart and ways. (Rom 6:3–11; Gal 2:20; Col 3:1–4; 1 Pet 1:15–16; Gal 5:16,22–25)
We believe God saves us into fellowship with Himself—to seek His face, abide in Christ, and walk in the Spirit daily; as we behold Him, we are changed and become a people who host His Presence. (Ps 27:4; 16:11; John 14:21,23; 15:4–5; 2 Cor 3:17–18; Jas 4:8)
We believe the universal church is the body and bride of Christ, called to be a dwelling place of God through the Spirit, expressed in local congregations devoted to Word, prayer, fellowship, and mission.
We believe Jesus sends His church in the Spirit’s power to make disciples of all nations, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom in word and deed until the earth is filled with the knowledge of the Lord.(Eph 1:22–23; 2:19–22; 5:25–27; Acts 2:42–47; Heb 10:24–25; Matt 28:18–20; Acts 1:8; Isa 11:9; Rom 1:16; 1 Cor 4:20)
We believe we are a royal priesthood who minister to the Lord, listen and obey, and intercede for people and nations; we expect God’s tangible work as we gather in His name. We believe Jesus heals the broken and sets captives free; we ask boldly and submit wholly to His wisdom, seeking the King and His kingdom among us. (1 Pet 2:9; Acts 13:2; 4:31; Matt 18:19–20; 1 Thess 5:17; Luke 4:18; Matt 4:23–24; Mark 16:17–18; Jas 5:14–16)
We believe Jesus prays that we be one in the Father and the Son, that the world may know Him; we pursue humble unity with fellow believers that hosts His Presence. (John 17:20–24; Eph 4:1–6; Col 3:12–15)
We believe in the literal, visible, bodily return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the just and unjust, the final judgment, and the new heavens and new earth in which God will be with us forever face to face. (Acts 1:11; John 5:28–29; 2 Cor 5:10; Rev 21:1–4; 22:12)
